Stone look-a-likes
Hey, I found me some nice look-a-likes from the stone that you can find on the Kivenkantaja-cd.
I took some pictures, but I don't have any webspace... Maybe I can e-mail them to someone? or can anyone help me on putting them on internet? These stones reminded me a lot of "the stone" |
Where did you find these pics? I'd love to see them but unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about uploading the pics to somewhere. I'm working on my first website and have these things to learn.

Send ´em to henri.sorvali@welho.com- I can upload them to my server, if they are small enough...

The originals are 1200-1600 and 2 MB big, if anyone would need those, I could e-mail those, but the ones I sent to Henri shoud give you a good idea too. Now follow the guide, please... Suivez le guide, s'il vous plaît... Volg de gids, aljeblieft... The pictures are taken in Uppsala in Sweden, (where I have been living for four months, but leaving in two weeks) and the stones reside in front of the University aula. |
okay, here they are:

Oh, those are beautiful! :) I want! I want! I want! For my garden.

yes, :) they do exquisite work but can you imagine the shipping cost alone to ship a stone from Helsinki to Orlando? It would be cheaper for me to fly the craftsman over here to do the work onsite.
|
Yes I know. Just joking... :)

I would love those stones to stand on my website.
nehh, to unorignal ha! |
I would love one of that stones in my house. It would unique in the country - even in the continent!!
I can see it: my garden, or better a forest, the stone standing proudly, the heads of non-believers (!?) laying on the floor full of blood... Ah! :Unholy: |
I think I've found a way to create one of these from scratch. That way I can have exactly the size and shape I want. All I seem to be able to find here are boulders. The huge stone in the front garden, on closer inspection, turns out to be coral, which is useless for my purposes. Coral is like a razor blade if you accidentally slip and hit it and virtually impossible to carve neatly. I'm experimenting with making sandstone using different natural mineral bonding mediums with the sand. When I find the strongest one, I will dig a mold right into the ground and line it with plastic and pour it, let the sun do the rest. In 2 weeks or so, the stone will be ready. Sandstone will be easier to carve and I'll just put grout sealant on it when done.

A runestone in the garden? That would take the prize in tasteless acts...
They are marks of time, deeds and persons, not for decoration. *while I actually really want one myself :p * |
It's not FOR decoration ;) My garden is a carefully and purposely laid out working Heathen temple. If I wanted decoration I'd go get these plastic swans and put plants in them.
