I just dled the new Soilwork stabbing the drama...
and i must say...
Disarmonia Mundi simply kills it...but i still like it :)
although the drumming is pretty nice, the guitar solos aren't as apparent anymore..(well that's so far i've listened to 7 songs so far "nerve" and "distance" are the only two songs that has better solos)
what do you guys think?

It's in my download queue now, but only very few users have it so far and none have slots available, so I'm gonna have to wait till tomorrow..

it has uber copy protection, that voiceover during all the odd number tracks really got the line on the pirates :| really tho, DT promo finally made its way to our mailbox, and I much prefer it to Soilwork (and I love Soilwork) STD is not as strong as FNF, and the artwork matches... just my humble oppinion... (I will buy soilwork anyways when it comes out... wouldn't want any gaps in the collection...)

Listening to it again now, it sounds quite impressive on first listen, but that's mainly because of the production, which is pretty good. There are some good songs, but I think I liked FNF better. Very good drumming by Dirk though.
The new DT certainly beats it and so will the new Detonation ;).

hehe hell yea the new DT totally beats it..and i can't wait for the new Detonation :) seriously i really enjoyed An epic defiance more than a lot of other cd's over the past 2 years(?)
Hopefully the new album will do the same for me :p as long as you maintain the melodic element in there :p

The melodic element is preserved, don't worry about that! All drums and rhythm guitars are layed down, coming Thursday they'll start on the leads and everything..

Artwork is once again handled by Niklas Sundin and is progressing nicely as well :). Shirts/merch. will definitely be printed.
PS, I'm gonna hear the recordings that were done this week tonight :) :).

I enjoy more this new Soilwork album than FNF, of course is not better than DM. I really like the clean vocals by Speed on this one, he is getting better.
So far for 2005 the new DT and Kreator are on top of my list.

I don't really like the new soilwork that much at all. They just aren't the band I fell in love with anymore. I agree Speed is great on this album and the drumming is good too. It is too bad that the guitarists don't do anything that interesting throughout the album ... the keyboards appear to be nonexistant as well. Not even for atmosphere ... like completely gone did they fire sven? And what I think there are only four solos are something. Pretty sad

Stabbing the Drama is a big turnaround from FNF imo.
Sure its no The Chainheart Machine, and no APP or NBC for that matter, but it certainly trumps the rather lame FNF.

StD was an already album, imo. I thought the album was nice and melodic. Surely it wouldn't be anything I would listen to to get my adrenaline going, but I know it was in my CD player for 5 months for me to listen to while I was relaxing. Mindtricks on the other hand, I would listen to if I was about to pillage a town and go on a rape-fest, slamming down beers, headbutting my pals....oh yea, I'd go on a killing spree if I was thrown into a Emo-pit and this album was playing instead of their wrist-slitting shit. But, both albums have their own aura. Soilwork - Swedish, dM - Italian, being Italian I can say that we fully own the fuck out of the creative section :P The swedish kick our asses when it comes to drinking.
I just posted in a forum almost 2 years old. That is fucking awesome. I've never been able to do this before. I feel sooooo dirty, and I like it.... :D

In a street fight, you're right. Two (three including Whitesnake Speed Strid) against, what...six including Whitesnake Speed Strid? Shit, I'd pay to see it, but I'd probably put money down on the Soil boys. With a side bet on how many Claudio could drop before he went down.
