I also have it and it really DOES kick my ass, just like the new Disillusion and a buncha other new ones. Such great cds coming out this year and love to see newer bands breaking through to more people. \m/

Every song of I-Q has my fav pieces. And for me the same Dougy, I also think in numbers (tracks) :D But I think the most difference between I-Q & other bands is Douglas guitarplaying... the effects he uses you know, I love it  Spank me Dougy boy :finger: Oh yeah, the drummer is fucking amazing :Unholy:

imo In-Questis the strongest Belgian band at this moment. even though I almost always listen to black and dark metal, In-Quest has my full antention. every gig as good as the others.
Epileptic (and destination pyroclasm) are the most "advanced" metal albums that you can find these days in this tiny country.
an example for other bands to also be a bit original

I think you have a very strong point there, and that is also our major concern when we write new stuff. We try to make music that is ahead on its time and not just a repetition of what is currently "cool". Thought it is not easy; you easily get labeled "too new metal" by the ancient metalheads, and we can't grab the attention of the international scene either... But hey, I think IQ is now stronger than even, things go really fast, new album recordings are already planned again, so we can't complain.

yes, I heard from some people who have listened to In-Quest that it sounds to nu-metallish. don't know where they get that. it sounds a bit more modern, but there is nothing wrong with that.
and is it so hard to grab the international scene? no succes in other countries?

From the comments in the guestbook I would think otherwise ...

Myeah but i'm talking about the musicbizz part, some fans are ok (and then again we're not talking about massive numbers here), but as long as the label bosses/tour operators don't give you a chance, you can't really speak of international succes imo. You gotta call an egg an egg, ya see. We need a decent promotion backbone/tour budget, which is obviously not really present at the moment. I mean we have connections with several big bands, who would love to take us with them on tour, but it is not up to them to decide... it is basically all about which labels are willing to hand over the bucks in order to make their band grow.

After going to my friend's house today for lunch he played me In -Quest. The name did not ring a bell at first. Then I remember where I saw the name here on HMAS.
I liked it alot and it sounds fking great. The vocals styles mesh well in the song I heard. Amazing!!

I honestly don't understand this. In-Quest doesn't sound nu-metallish, far from it IMO. It's more like Fear Factory meets Morbid Angel and Meshuggah. People who claims IQ is nu-metal should listen to some frikkin' Linkin Pork and then tell me if it sounds the same...

Epileptic is definentaly in my top 10 (maybe even top 5) of 2004 but it wasn't my favorite of the year.

Still not quite sure, perhaps Cradle Of Filth - Nymphetamine. I know they are an easy subject for bashing but still I love all their albums.

Think it would be something like this:

1. CoF - Nymphetamine
2. My Dying Bride - Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light
3. Axamenta - Incognation (promo but I adore it)
4. In-Quest - Epileptic
5. Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh
6. Nightwish - Once
7. Demonoid - Riders Of The Apocalypse
8. Behemoth - Demigod
9. Anorexia Nervosa - The Redemption Process
10. Enthroned - Xes Haereticum

As you can see, I like a lot of metalstyles. Other great albums IMO: Fear Factory - Archetype, Hypocrisy - The Arrival, Therion - Sirius B / Lemuria, Susperia - Unlimited, Amon Amarth - Fate Of Norns, etc. I could go on and on... 2004 was a good year IMO

Epileptic is for me the album of 2004 for sure!!!! its very sad about those labels that they decide with who you go on tour ect.... In-quest is a very talented band and i think it should be on top with all other great death metal bands ;)

BTW
People who claims IQ is nu-metal should listen to some frikkin' Linkin Pork and then tell me if it sounds the same...

You are 100% right
