View Full Version : I just bought "Since The Day It All Came Down"

This is definately one of the best purchases I have made all year. This is one of the best melodic death metal bands I have heard. They have excellent melodies, and their acoustic guitar work is amazing! I was wondering if their album before "Since The Day It All Came Down" is just as good? If it is, I'm buying before I any other CD's. Damn good band!

I think the first album (In the Halls of Awaiting) is little more straight forward than the later one, still really excellent melodic album aswell. No acoustics that I could recall if you especially like them, but for a friend of melodic death it is a MUST purchase, really awesome album aswell!

It think the first album is superior to Since. More memorable melodies and songs. The lead melodies on Since sound forced at times, but on In the Halls of Awakening they are beutifully flowing and distinctive. Therefore Halls is in my top5 list of the best records ever made. But yes, Since is very good too, definetly one of the better cd's released this year.

Well, both of you answered my question, thank you. I must seek out "In The Halls Of Awakening" and buy it the first chance I get. Insomnium is definately one of my favorite bands now! (Right up there with In Flames, Opeth, and Dark Tranquillity)

My husband bought this cd and played it for me and I really dig it. Its calming and beautiful.

lol! Good point. It probably doesn't get as dark in California when its raining as it does in Finland.

So true. I actually dont remember that I had even skipped one song when listening to it.. Such a masterpiece as whole :smug:
