Go to the news section of this site to read a statement that can be found at the official Dimmu Borgir website!!

As some of you probably already know, australian born guitar player Astennu was fired out of Dimmu Borgir a while ago because of his lack of interest in the band. The band soon announced a replacement called Archon, but that seems to have been a hasty decision! It didn't really work out, so yesterday Dimmu Borgir announced a new permanent replacement on the guitars: GALDER of Old Man's Child!!!

I hope to get some discussion going about this matter, what do you all think of this surprising news?

This is what I think about the Dimmu news :

Galder is probably a great asset to Dimmu Borgir, but that piece of news still gets me quite worried. What is gonna happen to OLD MAN'S CHILD ? - The best fucking black metal band in the world!

I hope that this doesn't mean that OMC is no more. I pray to all evil and dark forces!

Hail OMC (and Dimmu B) !!

Well this is the question I`ve asked myself since I first heard that Galder and The Dimmu Borgir guys had been close friends from kindergarden: "why didn`t they all play in the same band then?" And now it finally happens...anyway this can`t be good for that "OMC and DB sound the same" discussion.
But I don`t think Galder will leave his seven year old child, or what? He has spend too much time, energy and work in getting OMC where it is today, to just abandon it! Think of it this way Galder will earn good money on playing in both DB and OMC so he don`t have to worry about the economic stuff!

FUck man! I appear to be the only one excited about this news! As fans of BOTH (morso of OMC), I can honestly say that DB's next album will now destroy ANY other BM release. This is a fucking wicked move on their part! Dimmu Borgir is going to kick ass!!

As for the OMC thing, look at people like Richard Christy, Peter Tag., and Sharlee DiAngelo. How many bands are THEY focusing on! More than just two. I'm sure Galder has what it takes to do the job to the fucking MAX.

Of course I`m also looking forward to the next DB album (september wasn`t it?), but what I meant is that when the biggest difference between DB and OMC are the guitars, then it`s abit scary to know that a OMC guitarist is playing in DB, the resemblance can get too big, and that is negative in my opinion...besides I hope this will not lead to that alot of 14 years old dimmu fans are starting to go around with OMC t-shirts.
