Well here's the first gift for this new forum...

....but unfortunately I'm an asshole and so I'll put here only ONE lyric each time, in this way you can (MUST :smug: ) write your comments every fuckin' time, ok?

I start with the first of Fragments of d-generation: Common state of inner violence.

Just a little introduction: I wrote the lyric while Claudio "Luci" Ravinale chose the title.
It's inspired by a chronicle event: some years ago in Germany a guy went in school and killed with a machinegun half of his classmates and some teachers, before of being killed by a police's sniper. I was impressed by the different reactions between the granfather and the parents of the guy: the first one said that his death had been a liberation, while his parents said: "well, that's a pity, he seemed to be a good guy, a nice violin player....well...we'll grow another one!" :depressed

BUT.....I think its suppose to be "Dont Let me be born" instead of "dont let me born"

yessss, that's because the first time I've written the lyrics I've written that sentence in the wrong way. and then someone told me: WTF you can't do that :eyepop: ! (ah, really?? I answered very sad :( ) and so i made the correction but only on one chorus of my file. But in the boocklet it's correct!

Anyway that "don't let me BE born" really doesn't persuade me!! :D :D

To be honest, i find DM's lyrics to be a little dissapointing...don't get me wrong the music is great, but these lyrics I just read here a few posts to the top are a bit childish imo....no offense.

Probably you're right, some lyrics are a little childish, but some others are really cool! I love the lyrics for "shattered lives and broken dreams" and "come forth my dreadful one" for example... :Unholy: anyway, the lyrics for their first album were far worse... :smug:

I was referring to the ones I read here on the forum, haven't read the rest of 'em, so my opinion is entirely based on 2 songs! ;)
With childish, I meant that the English grammar is used in a certain kind of way, written by someone with perhaps little knowlegde of the English language. Also words like "baby" are not often used for this kind of music. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just something I noticed. Anyways, DM rock nevertheless!! :D

I have to say, I rarely pay any attention to the actual lyrics anymore... if they go well with the music I dismiss whatever they actually say... I mean... bands like Obituary... who are we kidding... the "lyrics" don't really exist... although some sound like they fit. Unless you're doing 100% clean vocals, I don't think it matters so much what the content is. Most death metal, melodic or otherwise is pretty angry music in general, and if the screams/growls/grunts/whatever fit the feel/vibe of the music I'm happy.

On a different note I do find myself singing along to some songs, regardless of what the lyrics are...

I partly agree with what you say: the thing I noticed about the lyrics of this album is that some are written in a very simple way, some others are both more deep and more well written... the ones posted here are quite simple anyway :smug: I think it's not such a strage thing 'coz they were written by more than one person and however, to be honest, if the music is cool I simply don't give a fuck about the lyrics at all!

Yes, as I said the 1st time I arrived on this forum my english is far from being perfect!! Hope you'll forgive me! Anyway that word "baby" has really a childish meaning and that's exactly how I wanted that word to be! :D

Well, dear FiveFingersCrawl....
I was asking for the lyrics as there's no metal shop 'round here able to provide me with the Disarmonia Mundi album! I am italian, but right now I'm in a small town near Lima and there is no chance to find the original CD!!

I usually buy the CDs I like but in this case all the circumstances are against me!!
So, please, if you have the lyrics post them!
