Insomnium will be coming out with their new album on 3.4.2004. What are your expectations? Anything in particular that you're hoping for?

Me personally, I'm expecting a nice development from their debut. In short, some really kickass music :)

Note: This was also my 666th post.:devil

Nice to see that some people have already found their way to this God forsaken place. Guess I have to learn to use this forum too...:)

And a small correction: as far as we know, the new album, "Since the Day It All Came Down", is released in beginning of May. 3rd of May if I remember right...

Is the new CD going to be available in North America on that day also? Or is that the European release?

I've heard three new songs live. Two of them were slower, and in fact the other one (of those two) was quite proge influenced. They were still good though, really great.

The third song was faster and incredible good. It was called "Alistus" in the setlist, so I don't know the real name. Amazing!

Now I'm curious about the new album and a bit sceptical, but I think they haven't changed their style too much and there will lots of great songs on it... :)

We donīt yet know about the American release date of the new album. Info will appear on the Candlelight website and on our own site too.

I can reveal that the tempos on the new album vary quite a lot. Some songs are about 200 bpm and some about 100 bpm. Something for the trashers and something for the doomsters:)

Damn, that is kinda far away still. But at least we now have good place to speculate about everything before!

First album was already so nice that I doubt these guys could do something I wouldnt like at all even though slower tempos overall might not be my thing. Curious about the samples..

What am I waiting from the new album? Hmm. Hard to say, as long as there is brutality, no clean vocals or too much synths. I hate it when bands make a few great albums and then they just get soft. Although i like for example both old and new Amorphis-material, I still hope that doesn't happen to Insomnium just yet. :)

Pakkanen
02-02-2004, 01:31 PM
Yes, I like Amorphis too, but I think the side-projects (Ajattara, Chaosbreed) of their members are much better at the moment and I listen very seldom to the new Amorphis stuff....

So I'll definetly buy the new Insomnium-album as long as they don't change their style to this trendy electro-metal just like Thyrane did! :)

Kirurgisti

Hmm...I expect excellent melodies as always and deep growling not forgetting those amazing acoustics. I didn't like the sound off double basses on the last album, so hopefully they change the drum sounds into something less annoying. Yeh, and I want more guitar solos! :D

reiter.ger

i don't think so kirurgisti, the double basses makes the sound more emotional i think :>

OMG!!!! i just got the promo of the new album since the day it all came down. All i can say INSOMNIUM YOU GUYS HAVE IMPROVED A LOT! fucking awesome new album omgggggg!!!!

Geez, what a great start with 2004, new norther, new in flames, new insomnium all fucking great albums.

Those double bassdrum-sounds were just fine. Drums were bit too low in the first album. I think the reason for this are those massive dist. guitars on the surface of the whole. I hope the drums on the this second album are more powerful and raging like thunder!!

And in my opinion Insomnium doesnīt need any guitar solos.(or just one solo played with passion and strong emotions). Solos like the one in the end of the In the halls of awaiting are nice though..

The lack of solos doesn't bother me at all, the lead guitar work fucking rules through the whole album.
