Now, we can separate movies from Yule. :)
Tell what some of your favourite movies are and what ones you think suck and why, etc.

I am 100% positive that all Moonsorrow members will say that Braveheart is the best film ever made. No doubt in my mind...
Now to my taste in movies. Some faves are:
Seven, The Rock, All Jim Carrey flicks, Pet Sematary, The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars (IV-VI), Dude Where's My Care (hehehe) etc etc. I like all sorts of movies - comedy, action, horror etc. and not to forget porn
Movies I dislike would be stuff like The Horse Whisperer and other meaningless "uhuhuh, my little cat died...I'm so saaaaaaaaaaad" :) Hahahaha, so called "chick-flicks"...
I must say though that I probably like about 98% of all movies I watch...don't know why...just do...

I am picky about movies. To me, there is a very fine line between real truly funny comedy and outright stupidity. I don't find a lot of this American-made crap to be funny at all.
Anyway, some movies I like:
The Mists of Avalon
Star Wars
Empire strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
A Clockwork Orange
Stigmata
Amadeus
the 13th Warrior
End of Days
Bless the Child
2010
the Seventh Sign
Edward Scissorhands
Clash of the Titans
Braveheart
Highlander
Legend
Labyrinth
The Fifth Element
From Hell
Elizabeth
Interview with the Vampire
The Messenger
The Secret of Nimh
Dark Crystal
Dragonworld
Fantasia
Rocky horror Picture Show
The Neverending Story
Yellow Submarine
Sixth Sense
Sleepy Hollow
Rush Hour
You get the idea.............and no, I'm not a baby, I just like those films, I can't stand violence and I will puke if a movie has too much gore in it, unless it is a movie about history - I can deal with it then.
and of course, I am ready to see Lord of the Rings. :)

Anything Mel Gibson has done (especially Braveheart and Mad Max 2), James Bonds (especially with Roger Moore starring), Tim Burton´s movies (Nightmare before x-mas=superb!!), Evil Dead I & II, The Hellraisers, The Starwars.........
And I´m waiting too for Lord Of The Rings.

>Anything Mel Gibson has done...
What women want too? Aye, Mel rules.
My movies of choice are, first and foremost, anything Mel Gibson or Johnny Depp have acted in (Braveheart, The Patriot, Mad Maxs, The Ninth Gate, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... you name it).
Then come, importantly as well, Gladiator, Conan the Barbarian, Dragonheart and other warrior flicks. Of course also the original Star Wars trilogy (IV-VI, I mean) and..... man my head is empty. I like so many films not linked by an actor or a theme, too, too many to mention. Forgive me.

I'll add two more movies...
Lord of the Rings (cartoon version)- Best cartoon ive ever seen :)
And talkin' about cartoons, I must say that Cow&Chicken is awesome!!11
One comedy must be added too: Monty Python's - Brian's Life
I like Cow and Chicken, but I love Dexter's Lab and 2 Stupid Dogs better. :)

ah, Zardoz... it is an old sci-fi cult classic. I can't begin to describe it adequately. truly a transcendental work of art; I urge you to see, you must! flying stone heads, meditation powers of the Second Level, Sean Connery donned in a red leather harness (with a groovy moustache)... can it get any better than this?
I don't really see why I should have a favourite actor. all they do is look cute and pretend to be someone else. hell, I can do that (except maybe the looking cute part). besides, the same faces are used way too much. seeing some pretty millionaire like Tom Cruise play the part of an Ordinary Joe, all the while flashing his self-righteous smirk, doesn't exactly help me get into the movie. let's face it, we don't go see the stories, we go see the stars.
my fave, then? Jackie Chan.

I have actually never seen Braveheart, so I'm not going to say it sucks or rules.
I rarely meditate upon my favourite movies, but let's see what they could be (not in any particular order):
Star Wars (episodes 4-6): I once played X-Wing in '93 or so and got addicted to it. Soon after I saw my first SW-movie, Empire Strikes Back.
Ghostbusters (1 and 2): Saw the movie in 80's, great stuff! In abt. 89-90, when I started school, I played ghostbusters with my friend at school! (Jumping to snow, it was supposed to be ectoplasma  )
James Bond's (excluding Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Thunderball, In her Majesty's Secret Service and The World is not Enough): I remember seeing my first Bond somewhere about '85, when I was 3 years old. At that time I was only interested in the cool cars, but later on found other enjoyable aspects of these movies. Great action with a little comedy. Roger Moore was the first Bond I saw, so I'll always consider him as the "Real Bond", no matter what the others say. Besides, his cleverness is unsurmountable ;)
Indiana Jones-movies: It seems that Harrison Ford rocks. First seen in the early 90's. Gotta love these (especially the scene in 'Temple of Doom', where they have to eat...exotic food!)
Aliens 1-3: Found about these about the same time as Star Wars. I don't know what say anymore, one the greatest scifi-movies ever. They don't make these things anymore.

2.Gladiator
3.Conan the Barbarian
And as all you other "I´m not a roleplayer but i´m still very eager to see the LOTR movie" -folks out there,I wait very much for that one.
Also Hellraisers (especially II-"Hellbound") are my faves.Jim Carrey rules also, and of course the almighty Marty Feldman.

13th Warrior was good for one thing and for one thing only: the Norwegian was authentic. at least as far as I could tell. as soon as they stopped speaking Norwegian, the movie deflated. but still, historically that wasn't entirely accurate, as modern Norwegian wasn't spoken back then, it was more like archaic Danish...

I thought 13th Warrior was a great movie. First time I saw it, when it was finished I rewound the video and watched it again. I was really disappointed to learn that it was filmed all in British Columbia though.
