What is the most epic song you have ever heard? What song is it that just continues to blow you away time and again everytime you hear it? What is it about this song that is special?

"Tuulten koti, aaltojen koti" from "Suden uni" is a song that almost makes me cry... :( A great song!

Erblicket die Töchter des Firmaments while gazing at the solemn stars in the wintry night sky.
additionally, 793 (Slaget Om Lindisfarne), Nebular Ravens Winter and Mountains of Might. yes, I have a tendency not to choose the most obvious ones.

Me agrees with Henri. Except for the lyric part, of course. :p

Ahem.
I have to agree with Miss Vixen on this one. Sankaritarina does also have that same kind of effect on me. As does Braveheart and Gladiator... and The Fellowship of the Rings.

"Lord of Ages" by Blood Axis, the abovementioned Bathory song, and Ukkosenjumalan poika.
Hail to you all, as this be my very first post on any forum.

Hoom, please don't associate that name with any movie celebrities or English words, funny though they are... :D
I'm pretty bad with suddenly having to make up nicknames, and decided to use my last name, it's Finnish and would mean a "ripple / small wave" or something like that.
Well, I hail from Hämeenlinna, which is too south.

Have anyone heard Manowar's Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy; that's a really epic song that lasts 30 minutes(of course there is many parts in it but it's EPIC) :) Then there is some songs with epic structure in Manowar's early records but those are not so professional :p
And of course Moonsorrow's Sankaritarina.

Yeah, of course I do. The "Those Were The Days" cover by them rocks vitusti. :D
Unfortunately I missed the Stormbringer-happening (Moonsorrow, Ensiferum & Turisas I guess) although it was almost next door to me, was visiting my father in the deep forests of Kesälahti.

More people from Hameenlinna! Great :)
Btw. metal greets from Shanghai, China! I'm visiting my uncle there. It's confusing because every one has black hair, can't notice the "metal folks"

Be sure to look for missing fingers also before labeling someone metalhead from their tattoos. Or was that in Japan... :p

hey D - what is your uncle doing in China? Oh well, even if it's boring there at least the food is good ;)

He's doing some cell phone stuff for Nokia. Long days at work...
We went to a Chinese restaurant yesterday. The food was good, but a little too exotic for me
I read from a local newspaper that you can't find local music in shops here. It's all underground. And top local bands are all pop/rock/punk-bands... No heavy in China :(

Has the government closed the record stores too? (they did that to some thousand internet-cafe's, I heard)
They're afraid of Metal Revolution!

I think not. I saw some record stores and they all played very loud pop music :)
I bought one cd, the man in the cover was wearing a leather jacket and he looked like a metaller, but the music was pop with some guitar solos :)
