you really should read some Lobo.
(wait! how did this happen? this was intended as a reply to the If you like mythology check this out........ thread, but somehow it became a thread of its own. not my fault, mind you. this forum goes haywire increasingly often.)

well then, let's put this thread to good use.
there was a long period of complete inactivity, a time when I couldn't get anything done outside of downloading a truckload of mp3's -- but I had a commitment I had to fulfill: Popparin ja metallimiehen vuoropuhelu has now been revised, remixed & remastered, and subsequently translated into English. look for them here: mmtutti.cjb.net/poppari.doc (http://mmtutti.cjb.net/poppari.doc) and mmtutti.cjb.net/popper.doc (http://mmtutti.cjb.net/popper.doc). (available for a limited time only; due to my recent reclusion, the site is again closed down. I wasn't happy with it, and the 'thoughts' section was most likely never gonna happen, anyway.)
I chose to resolve the matter of punctuation by applying whatever I have come to learn by reading H. P. Lovecraft in the original language. he was American, but like myself, he was known as a keen Anglophile (www.gizmology.net/lovecraft/works/mother_england.htm (http://www.gizmology.net/lovecraft/works/mother_england.htm)), and at least he maintains a consistency throughout his works. but in many places I was uncertain, and without clear guidelines, I either followed those of Finnish or did not use any. I intend to study the matter further.
please take note that the translation is nowhere near word-for-word, nor is it meant to be; I went a little more poetic with it this time around... also, the texts are not properly hyphenated, coz I can't get this stupid Office 2000 to dance to my whiplashes. so think of them as "promo copies"!
for full effect, please be familiarized with de Sade's works. www.gothicvisions.fsnet.co.uk/desade.html (http://www.gothicvisions.fsnet.co.uk/desade.html) (although this is not the version I personally prefer.)
whatever comments you care to give will be welcomed.

I tried it again and got still that same error message. but not to worry, the other link I found worked like a charm and I have now read the document. I love it!! I think it's an accurate and very sobering account of the oppression of these pop people and their oblivion to it. You need to publish this somewhere mmtutti - this is TOO good to keep archived. :)

thank you. one day I just got fed up with the lame inconsistencies that my pop-oriented fellow human beings repeatedly tried to insult me with, and so I compiled them and wrote that piece around them!
publish it? I dunno, I'll have to think about that. you know, it just might be worthy of that.

I think it should be required reading for every 7-8 year old. To be reviewed again at ages 10 and 12. :)
I got as far as page 3, and didn't read further. It seemed a bit like that arrogance of "The music I listen to is vastly superior and more talented than anyone else's, and no-one could possibly be more passionate about my kind of music."
Those who state their beliefs to be the only truth scare me. Loving music is one thing, but .... :|
Whatever next? A war between pop and metal fans? Like Christians and Muslims?
Metal music, just like pop music, has a pack mentality, and mindless conforming. Look at me, I wear black and have long hair. I don't smile much and have tattoos/black eye makeup/nailvarnish etc.. I don't follow a trend, honest Guv. Even though I look the same as other Metalheads.
"My trend is better than your trend, nyah nyah nyah!" belongs in primary school.
Just my humble non-Metallic opinion... since I'm too old to listen to just one kind of music, or dress like everyone else like some poser teen trying to distance themselves from the masses rather than sort out the emotional issues of why you want to create distance.

A war between christians and muslims would be pointless because they are so very much alike. Still, maybe it would be a good idea in the end because it would give them both something to do and take the heat off of the Pagans.
I think we need to go to the HIM forum and cut and paste that document. The reaction would be worth its weight in gold to see.
Natural selection has to take the form of stupidity as we have no natural predators.

ah, sweet metal... I kind of put my own theories to test by buying Immortal's Sons of Northern Darkness without hearing much of it beforehand. need I tell you that I wasn't in the least bit disappointed? haven't listened to anything else in days...
Bolt Thrower and Immortal -- these are my lords until the end of time. I just bought a Bolt Thrower shirt, which is actually the only metal-related piece of clothing I own.

What's the matter? You don't like to wear black clothes? What DO you wear then? :)
Laine
02-19-2002, 02:11 AM
I have TWO music t-shirts, Kreator and Immortal.
Clothes are just for keeping you warm. Black is good, you don't have to think "ohmigod does this suit me?" because it's good for about everyone. Consider the advantages! Your retarded friends have to waste minutes of time deciding what to wear, you can go straight into drinking or whatever.
allissson
02-19-2002, 03:46 AM
I thought only women deliberated over what to wear. So men do it too huh? Anyway, black is basic, it suits everyone, can be dressed up or down and matches with everything. When in doubt, wear black. ;)
I have probably about 25-30 metal shirts.
Laine
02-19-2002, 04:55 AM
I still think only women do that. I wouldn't count the whigger PHAT gear (pants, shoes, hooded shirts) worship as being worried about style, because only size matters for them, not colour. They all look the same anyway.
Maybe we men have to consider what type of armour to wear before going to a mosh pit, but that's another thing.
I have dark green (w00lly) socks now. Otherwise I'm completely and utterly black, staring at me would be like staring into an abyss.

   I'm dying here...........that's too funny!
So, the Finn-whiggers use that word "phat" as well? I have GOT to ask - what does it translate to in Finnish?
They have this book at the big bookshop here and I swear I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't holding the book in my hands on the physical plane - it's a dictionary of all that whigger slang. I was laughing so hard the people there must have thought I was huffing nitrous oxide. The book is about 2cm thick! I had no idea that whiggers even had a vocabulary that would fill the back of a postage stamp let alone a whole book. I think that perhaps ebonics was integrated into the dictionary as well.
I can see now why Finland took measures to keep the Somalis out - you seem to have more than enough wanna-be's there already.
About clothes - I wear pale to mid blues, dark browns, dark greens, orange and terracotta. Occasionally cream or white. I rarely wear any other colours. I almost never wear black (apart from tshirts). Except shoes. I have had the same pair of doc's for 6 years, and I would never wear any other colour but black. Orange flipflops or rope sandals in the summer. Without socks. Underwear colour - not telling. ;)
I have about 15 Metal shirts, two white, one purple batik and the rest black. And a ziphood. I mainly wear them in bed as I can't wear them for work.
It's a pity England didn't keep every damned refugee out, we are gonna end up a Muslim state. We even have schools that teach Asian religions/language and NOT English. (And that's the ones that go to school.)
My own religious "education" was very openminded I have to say, but there are a fair few schools in England that have a religious bias, fortumately my parents don't believe in enforcing religion on people. We did sing hymns at school, but the RE teachers taught without the "mine is the only truth" blinkers that I have seen in some Christian freaks I used to know.
Why doesn't this pagan board censor out the word "christain"?
What are peoples' views on home schooling? The xtian fukkwitt I used to live with said she would do that with her kids. She even belonged to a network for Hell-fearers to take care of eachothers kids, talk to eachother and so on. One family had 6 kids.
I think it absolutely stinks. There! :)
allissson
02-19-2002, 05:33 PM
Oh, don't even get me started on the homeschooling issue. It seems to be trendy among the redneck xtian community here. I tell you what - there's 3 families in my neighbourhood who do this - for religious reasons of course - one has 7 kids, one has 4 kids and the other has 2 kids. and unless they do the schooling in the middle of the night, I really don't think these kids are even getting educated because they are out playing in the street all day long. And socially - these kids are the most ill-mannered little bastards you could ever meet. I think that homeschooling should not be allowed except in very special circumstances like if a child has an illness or injury that will take a long time to recover from. I have a college education and I don't think that I would be anywhere near qualified to home school my child properly. Teachers are specially trained for this purpose.
Where's Ville and Baldur - they are our teachers on this forum - I am curious to hear what they have to say about this.

02-19-2002, 07:51 PM
Oh yeah, fine indeed - so blinded by bullshit that they can't see straight or even think for themselves.
playaz...........is that the same sort of thing as niggaz..........I swear when we went back to London I saw that word spray painted at least once at every tube station and also on walls around the city. What makes me laugh is that these whiggers will call each other "niggaz".
Do they have problems over there with gangs?
Laine
02-19-2002, 08:06 PM
Again, I'm not in that fine culture enough to know for sure, but I suppose there are groups of niggazzz here, which have somekind of hierarchy based on toughness. Not to be mentioned even in the same week with real EASTSIDE L.A. gangs for example... which reminds me that the "east/west side" thing has spread into the finnish whiggers' speech also. :D :D
They do (at least the ones I know) use it with some humour though.

02-19-2002, 08:34 PM
Oh, my opinion about homeschooling? Quoting vitr, I think it absolutely stinks! :p There are cases in which it is more than justified, but that the parents are rednex is not that kind of a situation... Actually, should the parents be rednex, it would be much better for their children to spend as much time away from home as possible! The schools are built to function as an optimal environment for learning, and because basic education is obligatory these days, people should put their kids to school. Simple.
I grew up in quite an oppresive parental environment and was totally inhibited around my mother as a child. Even now, my friends say they notice that I can be quieter when my mother is about.
So.... just because parents think they know best... Kids need to be protected from their parents.
Not saying all parents are a toxic influence on their kids, but even if they get along fine, they need to have an alternative environment where they can express themselves with people their own age methinks. Or be bullied half to death... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
What we need is a way of dealing with bullying, and a way of teaching kids about all religions, including atheism (I don't like -ism, sounds like a religion). And then the rednecks might get some manners and learn to write.
Laine
02-19-2002, 09:34 PM
"...an alternative environment where they can express themselves..."
I think we are on one. :D
It can be difficult if you choose to express it to them, but people really shouldn't buy into their parents' (or anyone's) beliefs if they are intelligent enough to develop ones which suit them best.
allissson
02-19-2002, 11:05 PM
"It can be difficult if you choose to express it to them,"
yeah, and the reasoning for that continues elude me but I observe other people with their kids and I think I have a theory........... parents who want to live their own dreams through their kids - even if it's not what the kid wants. I see this TOO much in USA. These parents want to mold every facet of their kid's life to suit themselves. The kid's own ideas and expression are just disregarded. Guess what - when the sprog grows up he/she can't function on his/her own. And guys, these are the mothers that I sincerely hope none of you ever end up with for a mother-in-law!! if you do, move out the country.
Having analysed my own mother a lot, first in counselling and just over the years, she had a sh1tty childhood becaause my Nan is the coldest, hardest person on the face of this earth. So... my mother has inherited some of her charactersitics :
1. I am always right. Anyone who tries to point out that I am not is picking on me or trying to make me look stupid.
2. If I have an argument or do something to hurt someone, I never have to apologise. The other person always has to apologise.
3. I will get what I want, and I will make others suffer until I get it. I will cry if necessary.
4. I will see what I want to see. If I don't like, it, I will ignore it and hope it goes away.
5. I don't want my kid to be bullied, so I will ignore them when they tell me it.
6. I don't want my kid to have any sense of identity, any individual thoughts and I can dictate the sexual expression / physical appearance of teenage daughters. Any independent thought or action on their part is a threat to me becasue I must have absolute control over someone to feel secure.
7. Husband must be henpecked forever, criticised, told what to eat and when, what to wear, how to speak. Any independent though on his part is again, a threat to me, so I must suppress it to feel secure.
8. Children exist as ornaments for the amusement of adults, just like pets. A child that cries, isn't constantly happy, says thoughtful or melancholic things, questions things and desires more from their existence that pleaseing others, is a dysfunctional pet and accordingly, should be humiliated into being/looking sweet.
I think you are getting the picture. And I couldn't function for a good 4 years of my life after leaving home. I actually broke the chains by finding someone else (male) to transfer the dependence onto. Because of the vulnerability that was ignored rather than nurtured, I looked for someone who I *could* be dependent upon without strings of dominance attached. Fortunately, that split was a mutual one and I was ready to move on after getting the need for being totally looked after out of my system.
When you deny your child's needs, they don't go away and it is all the things that you bury that come together to make a dysfunctional adult. Will I ever make my mother see that? No, because she has never done anything wrong in her life. The best way is just to minimise contact with her. But I will be finished my work in a few months, and will have to go home as I can't afford to live here (central london prices) while I am writing the thesis. :(
After leaving home all those years ago, that is going to be pretty trying. I think there may be a few tears. But they won't be mine. I got the umbilical cord off my throat years ago. She never will.
I'm not sure what the point of that was, but just that parents need to let their kids be themeslves. It's nice to see that there are parents like that.
Anyway, I feel better after saying it.... ;) So, all you youngsters are gonna have to train your parents. Before they totally fukk you up.
Allison, I think "true playaz" means someone who sleeps with as many people as possible. I could be wrong, that trendy crap could mean anything... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
About a week ago, a bunch of teenage boys in tw.at, oops I mean "phat" cothing called me a nigger in the supermarket.

everyone's a nigger to them.
why do I not own metal shirts? because I don't like most of them. they are usually just black shirts with the cover picture of an album printed on them, or some lame lyrical quote: and for that they cost a mint. I don't need that. it's the music that I care about, not the imagery. my friends already know I'm metal, and I couldn't really care less about what complete strangers think about me.
I like my clothing mostly plain and one-coloured (with lots and lots of pockets), although not necessarily black. but the Bolt Thrower shirt I liked: the mandatory cover picture is very cool, and it sez 'Honour Valour Pride' on the back...
I agree there. There's always another CD I want, and there's a choice, CD or tshirt? So, I tend to get CD's.
I have to say as well, that visual art doesn't really move me. And the pics on the covers aren't done by the musicians anyway. I do have one ziphood with a CD cover picture on that I love both the album and picture, but just because you like the music doesn't always mean you like the picture. I am moved a million times more by what I hear than some painting, or picture of Yngwie sucking in his cheeks.

It's something I have no interest in doing or no time for. BUT - if I don't show up for it I will be in contempt of court and they will send someone to pick me up and take me to jail for 30 days.

How about all that swearing to Jesus to tell the truth kind of bullsh1t? What are you gonna do? I would hate to have to be in court, there is gonna be so much discrimination if I say I am atheist.

Well Laine, I can guarantee it is one of two things - it's either some episode in the trailer park or some nigger robbing a corner shop so he can pay his crack dealer.
"How about all that swearing to Jesus to tell the truth kind of bullsh1t? What are you gonna do?"
Good question. I didn't even think about that. I suppose I'll have to swear on or at something huh? Oh well, I'll just have to be an awkward bit.ch and insist that they bring me a pentagram.

The Koran? Hell, I dunno.
"What? Do they pick random people to decide in the court in the US? Against their own will!?"
Yes, they randomly pick people from the driving license register. they used to do it from the voter register but people wouldn't register to vote so they could avoid jury service.
"Sorry Allissson, but i strongly distrust your court-system."
