it's rather: one needn't always believe what is true.
so the sentence implies to not believe truth/facts always.

I didn't say that teachers lie... but they tell you things that are "true" (they believe, because they are proved mostly)...
...but who knows if there's another truth in 50 years?
I mean, you can have your own theory about everything. You don't have to do, believe (or what ever) the same like others...

do you want to be an idealist for idealism's sake or do you really have a sort of your own big idea/vision/dream ?

hahaha well not really. I mean in real life situations mainly....
Example:
Another person claims that the Sweden is the greatest country ever. I - just for the fun of it - start bad-mouthing Sweden, making it sound like Sweden is nothing short of a pile of shit...
I do this just to get a discussion going. I consider myself being quite a clever s.o.b. and I can always find quite reasonable arguments for any side. If I believe it or not is beyond the point. It's really fun :D

no worries, im only playing, but, the truth we 'tell' is what (in my country at least) we are instructed to tell by governments,...if we had full reign over what we taught perhaps we would tell a very different truth...

Sounds sweet to me :D Come January I'll be working fulltime in teaching (I hope). Serious journalism is definitely a part of my future plans as well. And who knows, I might just be a lawyer one day :D

I'll probably ease my "personal truths" upon my students, or at least parts of it...depends on the subject of course. I will NOT make my pupils believe Mark Twain is the greatest writer of all time for example when we all know William Faulkner is the true king :D

Well all people under 16 can move here to be educated by the one and only Mr LK. If you're older than that, well then you are beyond my reach as I will only teach grades 7-9 (13-16 year olds).... :)

Nah but seriously I don't know why I choose that age group to begin with. I will probably upgrade to high school teaching (ages 16-19) later on. I only need 20 more points in either Swedish or English for that. A half a year of studies that is...

Agreed. Stephen King is THE greatest story writer of all time.
I was only talking crap; making a joke about literature teaching. It was kind of an internal thing as I have a fellow classmate here beside me right now :D I hate Faulkner with all of my heart...one of the most overrated writers in history if you ask me....

And yes, please let us know where the swedish lessons are kept so that I can steer far away from them. I've traumatic memories from the 6 years (+one college level course) of swedish I had to study. :D Can you imagine what it's like in a class of 14-year olds, where you consider yourself the only one who actually wants to learn something while the rest are screaming their lungs off and the teacher is crying?
