i dunno if i'd call shadows fall or killswitch metalcore... they're kinda fast for that...
i always thought of cancer and obituary to be metalcore-like, but the lines of genres are so blurred now a days.... no one really knows!
i heard one new SF song... i didn't think it was that great...

i think it was thoughts without words. (something like that). i dunno, i didn't think it was that great...
I saw Earth Crisis and Skinlab years ago, and thanks to that show, I got introduced to In Flames!
I very much enjoy all of Earth Crisis' material, although I do believe that the Firestorm EP is their best work. Forced March is soooo \m/
As for Skinlab, I own their first LP, but I haven't listened to it for a long time. Maybe I'll pull it out sometime, as I used to be really into them.

I love the song Breed The Killers by Earth Crisis...but in length metalcore bores the shit out of me
But Earth Crisis is soooo

i think the new God Forbid is considered as metalcore also?
As i lay dying, All that Remains are both pretty good metalcore bands that has some swedish influence. Same with the new Darkest Hour who got guests like Tomas Linderberg and some members of The haunted, soilwork to be in the cd i think.

Is thoughts without words new? Because I've had the album that track's from since December and it was available way before that.
I am going to see Shadows Fall, God Forbid, Chimaira, and Killswitch Engage on June 20th in London  So its a gonna be just a bit metalcore!

Try Ion Dissonance or The Red Chord.
There are some grind influences in them.
Also Between The Buried And Me is great metalcore, although it might be defined as hardcore.
The End is awesome too.
Happy hunting :).

Well it depends on what you call metalcore. As with everything the genre of Metalcore has had differing styles over the years. But seen as KsE, Chimaira, God Forfid and Shadows Fall have all been refered to as metalcore bands previously in this thread, I'd assume that's what people think of them as at the moment.

Caliban is good shit.

Metalcore is basically hardcore (which is known for its brutal breakdowns) and metal merged as one. Hardcore with metal influences. The influences being sometimes sparatic guitar solos and riffs..along with the use of metal vocals at times. the influence of metal varies with the metalcore band. good examples are between the buried and me, darkest hour, bleeding through, every time I die, Unearth, and Shadows Fall.
