Hello guys !

So in reaction to the following news in the sudio diary :

19.4.2006
I finished all acoustics on monday and went straight home. Framus head is now under repair and hopefully we get it back till friday so that we keep in schedule. And yeah, I almost forgot to mention that we'll have at least one guest vocalist in the album this time. The story continues on friday...-Ville Friman

So let me know what you guess ! I think of the singer of Mors Principium Est or the one of Noumena, it could be possible !

Indeed, two finnish bands, Noumena has toured with Insomnium, and in an interview, a membre of Insomnium quoted Mors Principium Est as a great finnish metal band...

What's your opinion on the matter ?

I think it would be Mikko Kotamäki from Swallow The Sun, but who knows! Yes, Antti from Noumena also sounds great... We´ll see :)

Mikael Akerfeldt.
For many people the #1 growler of all times.

Yes but it wouldn't be realistic at all, we try to imagine who it would be in the limit of reality.

He even did a guest appearance on Horrified's album "Deus Diabolus Inversus"

Ville from Mors Principium Est is a great vocalist, it would be interesting to hear him do guest vocals on the album.

Mikael Akerfeldt would also be awesome!

Really ?

I didn't know that ! But despite this, I don't think he'll be the one to be the guest singer on the album, moreover Opeth's a swedish band, so I think the guest singer would be more probably from a finnish band, but I can be wrong as well ^^

Please Ville or Markus, help us ! :D

In second thought, I think there will not be growl vocals. Male or female clean vocals, but who... :)

I agree, why fix it if it ain`t broken? I think the cleans and whispers in previos records are awesome and there is good amount of them (not too much)

I would personnaly love to hear more clean vocals and less whispering, but I don't think this is the direction they took with this album.

I would have said Ville Villjanen from mors Principium Est, two of the best melodic death metal band working together.... damm it would be great !
It could be a clean vocalist but I don't know very well because Insomnium doesn't seem to want to add clean vocals with the sight of their previous albums but they could have change their mind for the new album
I think it could be a good thing so why not ?

Is there anyone as a guest vocalist? Some bastards have downloaded that album, so they might know (or not) :P

Personally I would really like to see Ville Vijjannen from Mors Principium Est. he is an awesome vocalist. But i think it'll be like the vocalist from Noumena.

Yeah, Mikko (Swallow The Sun) and Antti (Noumena) would also be my favourite finnish guest singers.

Somebody knows why all albums always have to be available through file-sharing before even the release date took place?
I can only think of unreliablemagazine's that put the promo CD's online.

It's official now!
Antti Haapanen - one of the few growl-god's in melodic death metal - is the guest singer! Check the notes at the Release-section:

"All arrangements and production by Insomnium.
Keyboards composed by Aleksi Munter, Ville Friman and Niilo Sevänen.
All keyboards arranged by Aleksi Munter.
Additional backing vocals in “The Killjoy” and “In the Groves of Death” by Antti Haapanen. "
